Trump administration’s parade of blunders could be due to decision to skip ethics training.

It has recently come to light that during the transition, Trump’s team passed on an opportunity to participate in an ethics training program utilized by the previous two administrations.

According to Politico, which obtained documents regarding the rejection of educational and advisory input, the series of sessions would have covered, “working within existing laws and executive orders, and provided guidance on how to navigate Senate confirmation for nominees and political appointees, how to deal with congressional and media scrutiny, and how to work with Congress and collaborate with agencies.”

A letter sent by the General Services Administration to the contractors offering the service noted that the requirements of the program, “do not accurately reflect the current needs of the Presidential Transition Team.”

It is unknown if any training was offered in its place, but there have been a number of reports from inside the team that the months leading to the inauguration were chaotic.

Norm Eisen, former White House ethics lawyer, spoke with Politico on the matter, commenting, “It looks like a good program, and I wish they had implemented it. It might have spared them the numerous ethics and other messes they have encountered.”

Among the “messes” is Kellyanne Conway’s use of the White House press room and media exposure to plug Ivanka Trump’s fashion line, a move that prompted a call for disciplinary action.

Conway’s comments on Fox & Friends in early February, included, “go buy Ivanka’s stuff,” and the lengthier endorsement, “This is just wonderful line. I own some of it…I’m going to give a free commercial here. Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.”

    • Who defines who is ethical? You? The teacher? I can teach you 1+1=2, but I doubt I can really teach you HOW to be a good person. I know MANY ethical individuals who have never taken an ethics course, and I also know some unethical people who did.

  1. Trump doesn’t need ethical training. That’s why Trump was voted in as President and not Clinton and her private server in the basement followers….Liberals will spend the next 8 years watching their rigged ‘global’ world be blown away around them….enjoy the ride.

  2. No Ethics training (which in my state is required for all state employees along with sexual harassment training)) and no security training. It shows folks. Government (with all it rules) is so different from private business. People who join it for the first time need to be informed. And, after all, government should have lots of rules because we are spending the public’s money. It is important that we try to do it as correctly as possible.

  3. Skipped for two very good reasons: First, Clinton’s took the Ethics training and look where it took these scathing reprobates! And Obomo, who should’ve been impeached for treasonous acts took the Ethics training, with Moochelle…who went on to spend $85,000,000.00 on vacations! That’s why President Trump declined the ineffective training as to two previous administrations were dismal, deplorable, liars, cheats, con artists and UNCONSTITUTIONAL devil-wizards.

  4. “We don’t need no stinking ethics!” Said the most unethical administration EVER (well, other than Putin…wait…that’s redundant).

  5. Honestly…stop calling everything you do not agree with those LIBERALs. I am not a liberal I am Republican. Trump is out for himself always. He is not the POTUS. He is told what to say. It is evident when he is asked a question that he has no idea what is doing. Example: His rally in Fl. It was to feed his ego nothing less. Again today he is out…where the new health bill or revised immigrant bill? No he is out because he wants people to tell him how wonderful he is.
What happen to his concerns for public schools? School choice does not improve the public schools. It is a band aid to another problem your boy will ignore. What a complete mess he is.
